The Pierre continues its legacy of unrivaled hospitality, creating meaningful and memorable stays, one guest at a time. As we responsibly adhere to physical distancing protocols and we are no longer able to shake hands, we will continue to cultivate emotional connections and curate personalized experiences for our guests. It is our heritage of exceptional service that defines The Pierre.

The Pierre’s enhanced protocols have been developed in accordance with CDC and World Health Organization (WHO) recommendations, as well as in cooperation with state and local government requirements. To comply with New York State law, travelers from specific states are required to complete the Traveler Health Form upon their arrival in New York State. Below you will find a high-level summary of our detailed Health & Safety Commitment, outlining additional measures we are undertaking. As we prepare to re-open, we have your well-being in mind.


General Detail Cleaning

We adhere to the highest levels of cleaning standards and protocols, which include the use of hospital-grade cleaning chemicals.

Social Distancing

In accordance with CDC recommendations, 6-foot physical distancing requirements will be maintained by all associates.

High-Touch Surfaces

We have increased the frequency of cleaning in public areas with a focus on disinfecting high-touch surfaces, elevator buttons, and door handles.

Dedicated Team

Our Leadership Team serves as on-property experts to ensure all health & safety measures are implemented.

Staff Safety Protocols

We conduct temperature checks for our entire Team upon entering The Pierre.

Rooms Blocked

All rooms will remain blocked vacant for a minimum of 24 hours after cleaning as an added measure of precaution.

Key Cleanliness Considerations

  • Our spacious guestrooms and suites have high ceilings, large windows, and are equipped with independent heating and cooling systems. They do not share ducting with any other rooms or public spaces.
  • All windows in our guestrooms open so you can let fresh air in at any time.
  • All rooms will remain blocked vacant for a minimum of 24 hours after cleaning as an added measure of precaution.
  • Rooms are sanitized with electrostatic fogging sprayers after each stay.
  • We will require guests to have their temperature checked upon arrival.
  • All guests will receive a complimentary safe stay kit upon arrival. Additionally, guests will have access to touchless hand sanitizer dispensers in all public areas.
  • Our two lobbies traditionally experience limited residential and guest traffic. All property dining outlets will comply with local and state-mandated occupancy limits. Public restrooms will be closed, and access to The Pierre will be limited to our team, guests, and residents.

Key Cleanliness Considerations

  • Guests will be encouraged to maintain 6-foot physical distancing
  • We provide highly visible signage in all public and associate-accessible areas as a reminder of The Pierre’s commitment to its health, safety & hygiene guidelines.
  • We have reimagined our room service, offering contactless delivery and delicious homestyle meals. Additionally, single-use cutlery and individually packaged food options are available upon request.
  • We have updated our guest laundry handling protocols and contactless delivery is available; our expert team will continue to process and clean all laundry and dry-cleaning in house, we don’t send anything outside to a third party.
  • Associates who do not feel well will be instructed to stay at home. The Pierre provides generous health care and sick leave benefits, should an associate test positive for COVID- 19.
  • Both the Leadership Team and all associates receive thorough health & safety training.
